Horseback Visitors

They rode a mile on horseback
To visit me today
They rode across the desert plains
Just to say G’day
These are my Australian men
The farmers on the station
Spending days looking after cattle
A hard working life long dedication
Their joy is in the land
Their tears straight into soil
The sun burns harsh upon them
It’s a brutal yet worthy toil
And so I’m in the kitchen
Preparing lunch with beer
Because when they come to see me
The joy is so sincere
Pull up a chair and tell me all about the journey.
