Mind In Need Of Affection

I ask “Do I play in your mind?”
Like a ball that bounces in the park
A monkey screeching in the dark,
An owl kissing a golden lark,
Or is the answer no?
For a mind given no affection
Is missing all direction
And who am I to say these words
But a sweet and simple love itself
To be found upon the library shelf
Waiting due discovery
That I may then deliver you
Fast and furiously right on cue
Into the turmoil, chaos, and fantasy,
Of illusion, trust, and some debate,
And confusion about the very state
Of whom we are and what we want
And other crazy philosophical ideas.
