Strange Day Indeed

The banana fell on the floor
The doctor ran out the door
The neighbour bitten by the dog
Outside all covered in a fog
This is a strange day indeed

As the shops close early
The train driver grows surly
And as we lose our soccer ball
The rain starts with a heavy fall
This is a strange day indeed

No school or work today
Lots of time instead to play
We will make tea and scones
And gossip on the telephones
This is a strange day indeed

This is just a silly rhyme
And I am nearly out of time
I must get up, be on my way
It’s time to face this strange strange day
This is a strange day indeed
