Cundy St

Maximus strolled down Cundy St,
He had always laughed at the name,
Cundy St, Cundy St, Cundy St,
In his mind it was a game.
How long would it be now?
How long would he have to wait?
Til someone took a marker pen,
Cundy St was surely sitting bait.
And then one day it happened,
But Maximus had moved away,
He never got to see the rewrite,
He’d waited for every day,
He never got to laugh in delight,
At stupid things people want to say
Poor Maximus, dear boy, never mind .
